Welcome
Do you long for someone to talk to?
Someone who will listen but won’t judge you, no matter what you tell them?
If you’re looking for help with difficult emotions, are feeling stuck and longing for change, or perhaps you’re just fed up of not having any confidence, then email or call me to arrange an initial, no-obligation consultation to find out how I can help.
My name is Dawn Smith and I am a BACP registered counsellor, offering private therapy in South West London. I work from bright, comfortable consulting rooms situated five minutes from Clapham Junction station SW11.
How I can help
No matter how lost, frightened or confused you may be feeling, I can help. But first, let me explain a little more about how counselling works.
As a counsellor, I don’t give advice and I won’t tell you what to do. But I won’t leave you to flounder alone either. In therapy, I aim to provide a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and problems in confidence, develop a greater understanding of yourself, and be supported to consider the changes you may wish to make in your life.
Free 15 minute consultation
I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to discuss key issues and explain the therapy process.
The top 3 issues I specialise in are: Anxiety, Dating & Relationships, and Self Esteem
Anxiety
Whether you’re stuck in a rut at work, or undecided about having a baby, still haven’t found ‘the one’, or just don’t know what the hell you’re doing with your life, whatever is making you anxious, I can help. I specialise in helping clients facing major milestones in their life. So if you’re dreading turning 30, find yourself panicking about your fertility as you near age 35, or are finding the menopause hellish, I can help you to unpack those feelings, and find clarity about what to do next.
Dating & Relationships
Many of my clients tell me how confusing, anxiety-inducing, and at times, downright soul-destroying modern dating can be.
How to navigate dating apps, and the jumble of feelings that comes with starting a relationship, is something I’ve helped many people with and can help you with too.
Self Esteem
A phrase I often hear in my therapy room is – ‘I’m not good enough’. Whether worrying about our career, looks, or our relationships, the feeling of not being good enough can be hard to shake. Where does this belief come from, and why do we often cling to narratives that hurt us?
Counselling can help you discover the answers, and find new ways to think about yourself.
