We all make mistakes, and chances are, we all have regrets. But for some people, regret is something they experience on a daily basis. It might be regret about a particular experience – a lost love, a failed interview, a life-changing accident or illness for example. Sometimes though, regret feels more like a permanent state of being, an identity almost. We may be plagued with endless, repeating thoughts and beliefs, that if we could just go back in time and do, say, or be something different, then our present lives could be so much better.
The irony is, by looking backwards the whole time, we completely miss what’s happening for us here in the present.

And maybe, for some, that’s the point. If we’re feeling unhappy and powerless in our lives, fantasising about ‘what could have been’ can at least feel like we’re doing something.
The thing is, that ‘something’ – be it yearning painfully for the past, or agonising over endless ‘if only’s, simply serves to keep us stuck in that powerlessness and misery.
Our life today is tomorrow’s past. The only changes we can make are right here, right now. So if you want to finally let go of the regrets that are holding you back, and think about the life you want now and in the future, please get in touch.
